“I am grateful for the opportunity to do what I can with my artistic voice to stand with my black brothers and sisters. What I wished to convey with my piece was the idea that it is just not enough to say you are not racist – it is way beyond time for white people to DO something and be ANTI-racist. I wanted to speak to this idea that it is time for action and that this is a WHITE problem, and it is our responsibility to solve it.”
